What We Offer

We offer group matwork classes, one-to-one sessions and equipment-based studio sessions as well as antenatal Pilates classes for women in their 2nd and 3rd trimesters and home-design programmes. We also now offer one-to-one training sessions and classes in Greenwich park. A brief description of each (and more) is below.

Not sure which option would be right for you? We can help you to work it out with our Pilates picker chart.

Group matwork classes

We offer 4-week introductory courses (compulsory for new clients to the studio who do not wish to book one-to-one tuition), classes for beginners through to intermediate levels and antenatal classes for pregnant women in their 2nd and 3rd trimesters. All ages and levels of fitness are welcome. Most classes run in courses and the course must be paid for in advance. We do also now offer semi drop-in classes which offer more flexibility - you pay for 5 sessions to be used within a 10 week period. Go to the Matwork & Antenatal Classes page for more information. To help work out whether this is the option for you please have a look at our Pilates picker chart.

One-to-one Pilates sessions

Completely private sessions with an instructor. Especially recommended if you are recovering from an injury, have recently had a baby, have a specific area or weakness that you wish to work on or just don't feel comfortable exercising around others. Unlike other studios in which there are a number of one-to-one sessions going on at once, at the Little Pilates Studio you and your instructor will be the only ones in the studio. You will have use of the Reformer and Wunda Chair, which help to build strength and flexibility in a way that is difficult to achieve in a mat-based session. The normal length for our one-to-one sessions is one hour. However, in instances where a one hour session is difficult (such as in later stages of pregnancy or where finances are tight) we can offer shorter sessions of 30 minutes or 45 minutes during off-peak hours only. Go to the Personalised Programmes page for more information. To help work out whether this is the option for you please have a look at our Pilates picker chart.

We are now also offering one-to-one training and toning sessions outdoors in Greenwich Park.

Pilates Studio equipment sessions

Pilates studio equipment is incredibly beneficial for building strength, increasing flexibility and improving joint mobility. The equipment can help to increase your understanding of the matwork as well as to help you to achieve proper movement and muscle recruitment in ways that the matwork does not. Our studio sessions offer a chance for you to come in and use the equipment in the studio under close supervision. You will receive more attention than in a group class and be given your own personalised program. There will be a maximum of 4 people per instructor. If you are new to Pilates or have not been to the studio before than you will be required to either do a couple of private sessions before starting or complete a 4-week Introduction to Pilates course (these run monthly). We also now offer 4-week Introduction to Studio Equipment courses. To achieve a good balance in your Pilates programme we recommend doing 1 studio or one-to-one session and 1 group matwork class per week. To help work out whether this is the option for you please please have a look at our Pilates picker chart.

Personalised program to practice at home

Need the personal attention of one-to-one Pilates sessions but do not have the budget or time to match? This could be the solution for you. We understand that weekly one-to-one sessions may be unattainable for many people, especially in the current economic climate. However, in order to get the maximum benefit from your Pilates sessions, it is necessary to practice regularly - at least once per week. Therefore if you do require one-to-one sessions but cannot commit to regular weekly sessions than you may benefit from our program design service in which we will design a program for you to do at home. Remedial Pilates

helping out on the chair

With an emphasis on maintaining correct alignment and posture and increasing the body's core strength with minimal impact on joints, Pilates is an especially beneficial form of remedial exercise. A regular Pilates program can help to regain proper movement patterns, correct imbalances and alleviate symptoms that can occur following injury, back pain, surgery or onditions such as osteoporosis or osteoarthritis. Pilates should not be used as a substitute for initial diagnosis and treatment from a qualified medical professional, but once you are on the road to recovery Pilates studio equipment (such as the Reformer) is perfect for rebuilding strength, increasing flexibility and improving the mobility of your joints.

At the Little Pilates Studio, we work in consultation with your healthcare practitioner to offer the best program for you. You will begin with one-to-one sessions and may then progress to studio sessions or classes when ready.

Pilates and the Park classes

These classes and one-to-one training sessions will take place in the summer and autumn and combine a short Pilates mat work session in the studio with quick walking and strength and resistance training in Greenwich Park. A perfect way to improve your general fitness and cardio levels while practicing Pilates! Click here for more information. Please note that this link will open in a new window. We realise that if you are not familiar with Pilates studios all this can seem a bit daunting so we have created an easy-to-use Pilates picker chart to help work out which option is right for you.
