August Workshops

Throughout August we are running a special summer schedule at the studio consisting of a number of workshops. These will include 90 minute Tuesday evening workshops (one per week) and a longer weekend workshop. Details are below:

Pilates and the Park (August 3rd and 17th)

Add a cardiovascular element to your Pilates programme and increase your fitness levels.These classes begin in the studio with a Pilates warm-up and then move to Greenwich park for some quick walking combined with resistance-based toning and strengthening exercises. Classes are 75 minutes. Suitable for beginners.

Abs and Arms (August 10th)

This class will focus on strengthening and toning abdominals and arms. We will cover the series of 5 abdominal exercises from the classical Pilates matwork series as well as some of the classical exercises which target the upper arms. We will work up to the ultimate Pilates arms/abs exercise - the Push-up. Not suitable for complete beginners but may be suitable for beginners who have attended at least 2 courses of beginners classes.

Legs and Bums (August 24th)

During this class we will be working on exercises from the classical Pilates matwork with an emphasis on those that target the muscles of the legs and bottom. Not suitable for complete beginners but may be suitable for beginners who have attended at least 2 courses of beginners classes.

Cost: £15 per workshop / 4 workshops for £50 / 3 Workshops for £40.

Pilates for Life(Sunday, August 15th, 10am - 1pm)

The full workshop title is "Beyond the studio - making Pilates a part of your everyday life". The workshop will consist of a 30 minute warm-up walk in the park (in which your instructor will be analyzing your posture and gait), 30 minutes stretching, relaxation, and breathing and looking at how to use relaxation and breathing techniques to connect to your core and a 90 minute class in which you will be designing a program, specifically for you, to take away with you. By the end of the workshop you should be more aware of how you can use Pilates throughout your daily life to improve the way you move, free yourself from pain, improve your posture and develop your strength and flexibility in ways that are specific to your needs.

Cost: £45. This includes the "Pilates Bible", which retails for £17.99. It is necessary to have the manual for the workshop as we will be using this in designing your individual program.

Cancellation policy: It is not possible to reserve a space on the classes or workshop without payment. If you do book a space and need to cancel then you will be given a refund up to one week before the class date. Any cancellations made from one week until 48 hours before the class will incur a 20% cancellation fee. Refunds will not be given for any cancellations made without 48 hours notice.
