Every day I walk from Blackheath Village through Greenwich Park
to my Pilates studio in East Greenwich. I especially enjoy these
walks in the morning when the park is quiet except for the occasional
group doing intensive, heavy-impact running or circuit sessions.
I'd always thought how nice it would be to exercise outside but
having had two serious knee operations this kind of intensive
exercise is not for me.
So I decided to set up my own classes in the park, classes that
would allow you to practice Pilates, get fit for spring, summer
& autumn and tone your tummy all while enjoying the beautiful
surroundings of Greenwich Park. So if you, like me, would like
to practice Pilates and do some gentle toning/stretching exercises
while enjoying some fresh air and natural beauty then these classes
are for you. Class information is below.
Location: The Little Pilates Studio in East Greenwich
on Lassell Street (very close to Maze Hill station). We will then
walk briskly over to Greenwich Park to the area in the lower Park
behind the fenced off playground.
Format: the classes will begin with a short Pilates matwork
warm up in the Pilates studio. If it is not raining than we will
walk briskly over to Greenwich Park for some strength and toning
exercise using weights and resistance bands. We will then finish
with a Pilates stretching and relaxation session back in the studio.
Day and Time: Wednesday mornings, 8-9:15am.
Dates: the classes will run in 4 week courses starting
again in May 2010
Spring Course 1: May 2010
Summer Course 1: June 2010
Autumn Course 2: July 2010
Autumn Course 3: August 2010
Autumn Course 1: September: 2010
Cost: £45 per course* or £38 for 3 of the
4 classes (in case you are going to be away for a week). Payable
in advance by cash, bank transfer or paypal (we do not accept
cheques or credit/debit cards).
Level: suitable for all levels from beginners to intermediate
*The cost covers the entire course and we regret that refunds
or discounts cannot be given for missed classes.
