The Little Pilates Studio is conveniently located just minutes from Greenwich Park, Blackheath and the river. We have created a range of unique classes and one-to-one training sessions which combine Pilates techniques with outdoor pole-walking and fitness-based exercises to give you a whole-body, low-impact workout that doesn't involve running or put excess strain on your joints.

The Little Pilates Studio

Urban Poling (aka Nordic Walking) combines upper body cross-country skiing with walking thus burning 20-40% more calories and using 90% of your body’s muscles. It strengthens the abdominals as well as muscles of the spine, shoulders and arms while lessening stress to hips, knees and ankles and increasing energy (calorie) expenditure, oxygen consumption and heart rate.

The Little Pilates Studio began offering classes in Urban Poling in October 2010 offering our own unique Pilates-based slant to the exercises. So if you would like to practice Pilates and improve your fitness levels while enjoying some fresh air and natural beauty then our group Poling & Pilates classes or one-to-one sessions are for you. Information is below.

Location: All classes begin in the Little Pilates Studio on 81 Lassell St, East Greenwich SE10 9PJ. We are a few minutes walk from Maze Hill station.

Pilates & Pole-walking (Urban Poling)

Format: The sessions will begin with a short warm up. We will than walk briskly around the park, the heath or down by the river using the poles to increase the cardiovascular workout tone the arms, legs and bottom. If the ground is dry then we will stop for some Pilates abdominal exercises and stretching. If it is raining heavily than the classes will be replaced with a Pilates class in the studio.

Dates:

- Sundays @ 12:15
- Fridays @ 11am

Cost: the first class is free! Then £40 for 5 classes to be used over a 6-month period.

Level: suitable for all levels from beginners to intermediate

ONE-TO-ONE SESSIONS

Format: these sessions are flexible and can be customised to meet your needs. They can begin either in the studio with a Pilates warm-up or in the park and will combine resistance-based toning and strengthening exercises in the park with stretching, cardiovascular and Pilates exercises. Sessions can last from 60 to 90 minutes. Longer sessions will make use of the studio equipment and end with Pilates abdominal exercises and stretching on the reformer.

Dates: anytime from May - September

Cost: £70 (1 1/2 hrs) £60 (1 hr 15 minutes) or £50 (1 hour)

Level: suitable for all levels from beginners to intermediate


 

Who are we? These classes are run by The Little Pilates Studio in Greenwich. Your instructor will be studio owner Jennifer Ainger. Jennifer is a fully qualified Body Control Pilates® instructor. What if it rains? Hopefully we will have glorious weather. But if it is raining heavily than the class will still go ahead but will take place indoors in the comfort of the Little Pilates Studio.
