Monthly Introduction to Pilates courses

These courses are compulsory for all new clients to the studio (other than clients who wish to join an antenatal class):

  • 4-week courses, running every month at a different time
  • small class sizes
  • perfect if you haven't done Pilates before and would like to try it and check out the studio before committing to a longer course
  • suitable for clients with back pain or minor injuries. Small class sizes (maximum of 8) will ensure you are well taken care of
  • cover the basics of alignment, breathing and centering as well as a number of beginners Pilates exercises
  • Once you have completed the entire course it will either be possible to join a beginners or improvers level matwork course
  • We are also now offering a 4-week Introduction to Pilates Studio Equipment course which you can join after completing the Introduction to Pilates course (see below)

Date and time: These courses run for 4 weeks every month either on Saturday or in the evenings after 8 p.m. See the schedule below.

It is necessary to complete the entire 4 weeks in order to move onto another class. If you miss any of the classes than you will be required to pay £10 to re-take each of the missed classes unless you choose the 4-class pass option.

Cost: £50 per course or £60 for a 4-class pass to be used in any month (so for example you could take 1 class in April, 1 in June, etc..). Payable in advance by cash, bank transfer or paypal (we do not accept cheques or credit/debit cards).

Monthly Introduction to Studio Equipment courses

Matwork forms just one aspect of Pilates. When Pilates is done in a studio setting equipment such as the reformer and Wunda chair form an integral part of Pilates practice. These apparatus use spring-based resistance which allows you to build up strength and flexibility while helping you to gain postural alignment, good core stability, overall muscular awareness and tone, moreso than the matwork practiced on its own.

If you would like a chance to try the equipment in a group setting rather than a 1-to-1 session than we are now offering 4-week Introduction to Studio Equipment classes to existing clients of the studio or new clients who have completed the Introduction to Pilates course or 1 to 1 sessions:

  • 4-week courses, running every other month at a different time
  • maximum of 4 people
  • 1 hour class will consist of a short warm-up and revision of the basic principles followed by a circuit-style class where you will be performing exercises on the Reformer, Wunda Chair and other studio equipment (wobble board, foam roller, baby arc, etc..).
  • perfect if you would like to try the equipment before committing to studio sessions
  • Once you have completed the entire course it will either be possible to join a studio equipment session, 1 to 1 sessions or matwork classes

Cost: £60 per course. Payable in advance by cash, bank transfer or paypal (we do not accept cheques or credit/debit cards). Refunds cannot be given for missed classes - if you have to miss any classes than it may be possible to make them up on another term, as long as there is space, but as there are only 4 people per class this cannot be guaranteed.
