Jennifer Ainger
(Studio owner and principal instructor)

Jennifer AingerI was born in New Brunswick, Canada, and studied ballet for 12 years before moving to the UK in 1993. I gained an MA from Oxford Brookes University and worked as a website designer for a number of years.

I discovered Pilates in 1999 after being forced to give up my job due to the development of Repetitive Strain Injury. I was looking for something that would enable me to work again without pain, and after trying numerous traditional and alternative therapies, I discovered that Pilates was just what I was looking for. I was so impressed with the method that I enrolled on the Body Control Pilates® teacher trainer course and, after qualifying, have been teaching classes and one-to-one sessions in and around London. After 2 years leasing church halls in Blackheath - I opened up the Little Pilates Studio in Greenwich in January 2007. As well as teaching, I keep in touch with recent developments by attending classes, studio sessions and professional workshops. Pilates has enabled me to take control of my life, and I hope that I can now help others in the same way that Pilates has helped me!

What are my Qualifications?

I have received the following qualifications with the Body Control Pilates® Academy and am continually adding to these:

Sophie Clough
(Currently on maternity leave)

Sophie CloughI trained at London Contemporary Dance School where I completed a Contemporary Dance degree (2:1). Pilates, yoga and body conditioning were all part of the weekly routine. I then went on to work as a dancer performing for about three years after that. I then became qualified in exercise to music and aqua aerobics and taught a wide range of classes in hotels and health clubs.

I have always loved living a healthy lifestyle and staying fit but have placed many a strain on my body through dance training and repetitive high impact exercise.

I discovered Body Control Pilates through a teacher when I was out in Greece and felt inspired to add this to my teaching repertory. I really liked its approach and could see the benefits for my own body as well as others. I qualified in 2007 as a BCP mat work teacher and teach classes around South London in the evenings and at weekends.

What are my Qualifications?

- BA honours Contemporary Dance
- YMCA Exercise to Music
- YMCA Aqua Exercise
- Body Control Pilates Matwork Teacher, beginners and intermediate
- Ball (beginners to intermediate)
- Small ball and toning circle

I also hold a CPR certificate and am a REP's Level 3 . I am fully insured and a member of the Body Control Pilates® Association.

Simon Lindsay
(Teaching Weds evening classes)

SimonI encountered the Pilates method during my training as a professional dancer at The Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance.

During my time as a dancer I struggled to look after my body alongside the aesthetic demands of dancing. Pilates gave me an enhanced physical understanding and a way of working within my body's limitations in order to safely maximise its potential while staying free from injury.

I fell in love with Pilates and believe it to be an incredibly versatile technique that has wonderful benefits for everybody whatever their physical abilities or their goals may be.

I am incredibly passionate about teaching and have a genuine enthusiasm for sharing the benefits of Pilates with other people. What I enjoy most about teaching Pilates is watching my students' bodies change as they begin to move differently.

  • Body Control Pilates Mat Work Teacher Certification (Level 3 REP’s)
  • Intermediate Mat
  • Pilates for the Older Person
  • Pilates for Pregnancy 1 and 2
  • Small Ball and Toning Circle
  • BA Honours Ballet and Contemporary Dance (1st)
